This four-part workshop lead by actor Bill Cwikowski and playwright Katherine Long, will teach participants to approach their work from the perspective of both an actor and playwright. On the spot exercises, including reading each other's work aloud and performing each other's work, will teach how writers work with performers in the spirit of collaboration. The workshop will also employ character study as a means to clarify the focus of the play and a strong emphasis on the needs and desires of the characters as they apply to the life of the play. With the eyes of both playwright and actor a broader look is given to the development of a play and answers are given as to what the theatrical experience itself is all about.
This program is made possible in part with funds from Westchester Library System's Mini-Grant Initiative supported by Entergy.
