Former NHL All-Star Goalie Removes His Mask to Raise Awareness for Mental Health
Join The Mental Health Association of Westchester for a riveting, unforgettable conversation with former all-star hockey goalie Clint Malarchuk. A 10-year National Hockey League veteran and author of A Matter of Inches: How I Survived in the Crease and Beyond, Malarchuk will share in great detail his lifelong battle with mental health issues, the on-ice accident that nearly killed him and the subsequent spiral that led him to attempt suicide. Now, with a bullet lodged inches from his brain, he's making the greatest saves of his life – sharing his darkness so that others may see that there is, indeed, a light.
Proceeds from the event, which also features a VIP reception with Malarchuk and wife Joanie, benefit MHA's vital mental health services.
MHA is a community-based mental health agency that has been helping Westchester County residents for 70 years through direct services, professional and community education and advocacy.
